Sony Interactive Entertainment has launched a slew of highly-anticipated games, such as fresh God of War and Spider-Man names, throughout its press conference on Monday (June 12), a day before the start of the yearly Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) gaming convention. Games have been the name of this game for Sony's occasion, since the company's latest PlayStation 4 (PS4) Pro has already hit shops. This contrasted with rival Microsoft's media conference, in which games shared the spotlight with all the Redmond company's new Xbox One X game console declared on Sunday.

During Sony's hour-long press event in Los Angelesthat there was just one speaker - Sony Interactive Entertainment America president Shawn Layden. He spoke for barely five minutes in total, giving just an introduction and final remarks. The episode was game trailer following game trailer, which brought cheers from the crowd who packaged the 6,300-seater Shrine Auditorium.

Sony first showed off the PS4-exclusive Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, a third-person action adventure game that follows the journey of a favourite in the series' cast of characters, including Chloe Frazer. Place in India, she'll be connected by gun-for-hire Nadine Ross to find the ruins of Hoysala Empire to regain the mythical Tusk of Ganesh. Additional PS4-exclusive games showcased include Days Gone, Horizon Zero Dawn's first Important piece of downloadable content The Frozen Wilds, Detroit: Become Human, God of War and Marvel's Spider-Man.

It may still be early days, since E3 only formally begins on Tuesday. However, for the time being, Sony appears to be receiving an early upper hand having an intriguing line-up of matches. Following is a peek at some names that captured this author's eye.

DAYS GONE

A fresh zombie apocalypse game put within an open-world surroundings, players play as Deacon, a bounty hunter confronting a savage battle for survival. A launch date has not been supplied yet.

DETROIT: BECOME HUMAN

The game revolves round androids - maybe not exactly the smart phone operating system - climbing up against people. It'll involve decision-making strings which will change the game's narrative. No word on a release date to the sport just yet.

GOD OF WAR

A soft reboot of the 12-year-old hack-and-slash action-adventure games of the same name, this new entry sees series' protagonist Kratos beating up enemies in brutal fashion once more. But he now has a son, Atreus, in tow for his adventures in icy climes. The new God of War is slated for an early 2018 release.

MARVEL'S SPIDER-MAN

Even the finale to get Sony's press conference, this match likely stole the show using a 9min movie trailer revealing the game of Spider-Man acrobatically moving from roof-tops to partitions rescue members of the organisation beneath protagonist Wilson Fisk (better referred to as the Kingpin) and combating against members of a different gang headed by Martin Li or even Mr Negative. The game looks as though it'll have smooth transitions out of parkour into fist-fights in addition to several quick-time events that need gamers to press certain buttons to advance in events from the sport.
